Author Announces Reading and Book Signing Events for “Burning Silk”
Destiny Kinal, a feminist writer of erotic historical novels is announcing a series of reading and book signing events of her debut novel “Burning Silk”. “Burning Silk” transports the reader to an exquisitely imagined 19th century: from French perfumers in Grasse to the silk magnanerie, where women raise silkworms each spring from the matrilineal way of life of the
Iroquois to the possibilities posed by utopian communities of the Northeast. Burning Silk has been widely acclaimed for its beautiful writing and intricate historical details.
Burning Silk is an award-Winning Finalist in the Best New Fiction category and Literary Fiction category of the 2010 International Book Awards. It is also a finalist in the Historical Fiction category of the 2010 National Indie Excellence Awards.
The target audience for these events consists of feminists, Huguenots, bisexuals, textile artists, American history buffs, Native Americans and metises populations.
Destiny Kinal is a writer, book artist, marketing consultant, feminist, bioregionalist and publisher. Kinal lives in Berkeley, California and western New York. She is currently working on her second book of the textile trilogy called “Linen Shroud”, a book set before, during and after the American Civil War, continues the story of the Duladier and Montour families and their work together in the textile industry not far from the Erie Canal.
