In 1998, Destiny Kinal concluded her work on the French Huguenots and silkmaking and, dropping down to join a writing workshop in France's book village of Montolieu, in the Languedoc, was inspired to lead writers, artists, and letterpress printers in 2000 to make a limited edition book Entre Deux Rivieres, now in the collections of New York Public Library and UCLA.
We have created a video that documents her research for the book Burning Silk. It includes the route through the Cevennes Mountains, to the Huguenot sites in both that region and in the Languedoc and along the Mediterranean, as well as comments on the attempts at silkmaking in the United States at the turn of the century.
